first of all, someone stole username "lady" so i have to be "crazylady".
second of all, delvichiccio, you were way more fun when you were cynical. what happened to you? just kidding. i am happy for you. even if all your warm and fuzzies about architecture are a little disturbing. also, i was horrified to see your bar graph with me coming in second place as the longest person to stay at this place.

What color is your parachute?
There's something about a job change that brings a whole new perspective to one's life.
My 3rd day, and I'm on my 2nd site visit and meeting owners. Amazing.
So having been away from Mostly Crabby Architects, I've had the opportunity to reflect on my whole 1 year experience there...
1. Water is a basic element of life. Don't b!tch about how much it costs.
2. Being in control is overrated. You can only control what you know, so in any case, you're never in complete control anyway.
3. It's not unprofessional to make your work fun.
4. Have a goal. If where you are in your job isn't helping you to get there; get somewhere that will.
5. Not everything is worth fighting for. Pick your battles.
6. It's not what you know, it's who you know. But it IS what you know when you get there.
7. You CAN make some good friends who are also your co-workers. I miss you all very much.

My very first blog
I'm now a blogger.
Now about that excel chart...is this what people do at work when they are supposed to be working? I was highly offended when I thought my bar extended beyond those of the head cheeses--meaning I would be here out of spite per the analytical one --but then I realized I missed it because it was a tiny sliver. Hey, thanks! Looks like "g" is going to live a nice long life as a MoCrA. Still working on Trinity?
Next, I think I need a MySpace. Oh yeah, I posted...I'm cool...

Who's moving on to Round 2?
I've been thinking...with my upcoming departure from the (M)ostly (C)rabby (A)rchitects, I've been wondering how many days each of us have left, well, here at the office anyway.
Some people are troopers and will be around until the 2nd coming. Others will just be here out of spite. In any case, all of us will be here longer than we would have wanted.
Sexy bar graph to follow:

I'm not sure how feasible a High-speed rail line would be from SF to LA, but I'm sure they'll pay someone a lot more money than I make to come up with some snazzy name...like California Super High-speed Interstate Train - or CalS.H.I.T for short. If it runs anything like MUNI, I don't see how they could name it anything else.
